Cell Phone Deals With Free Gifts Signify The Evolution In Mobile Devices

Posted on June 29, 2018 by Andrew

Cell Phones Everywhere!

Nearly everyone has a mobile device of some sort. This technology has advanced exponentially over the last ten years and has now become somewhat of a necessary accessory. Mobile phones are available for any budget, and many offer free gifts with purchase of a device. The availability of cellular products is above and beyond what most of us could have imagined when these products were introduced.

Phones For The T-Rex

The early technology was cutting edge at the time, that now looks like something out of an 80’s cult classic. The most available at the time were the “car phones” as they were labeled and perhaps marketed as. These obnoxious devices were relatively huge. By today’s standards, the size and weight of the “car phone” as well as the actual ability to send and receive calls reliably, may as well have been buried at sea. Probably weighing in at around 7-8 pounds, (yes, I said POUNDS) in addition to the overall size comparable to a shoebox that mounted inside the vehicle, and required an approximate 12-15″ roof-mounted antenna.

Houston, We Have A Phone!

Realistically, it was debatable whether the luggage and capabilities justified the price. The device was ‘futuristic’ technology, however, and people just seem to love the newest devices. It carried with it a certain symbol of status, since the devices cost around $3500-$4000 and the monthly charges were impractical. $45 a month for just, well, nothing. Minutes were charged separately at .50 a minute, on average. The price of long distance calls differed from local as well. Being the 80’s, and taking into account inflation rates, that price is equivalent to double that number by today’s standards. In other words, that $4000 price tag was equivalent to $8000 today’s dollars. The monthly charges, well double those too.

Considering current deals with free gifts, and the mainstream availability of mobile phones, it’s quite shocking how much one would fork over for such a device. It signified wealth and affluence, and many ‘posers’ alternatively glued a fake antenna to the roof of their car as a status symbol.

Growing Tech, Same Ol’ People

While the world in which we live continues to evolve and advance, humans tend to stay the same. They have always looked for new and innovative, with a keen interest in technological advancements. Many cellular companies offer different free gifts, including a free phone as the source of the free gift. Some require a lengthy contract, while others provide a lease and accessories as the free gift. The options are diverse in the mobile world, there truly is something to suit every need. Whether you prefer a contract or prepaid, unlimited data or very minimal you can tailor your preferences to your wish list.

My Phone Is Personal

The availability of web browsing, email, attachments, cloud storage, and mobile printing has taken cellular devices to the top spot in electronic purchases. Many mobile providers offer free gifts such as hot spot usage with purchase of a particular data plan. Everyone likes free gifts, right? The advancements in technology have skyrocketed, and with that comes the ability to give better deals, better service, and competitive prices. Free gifts that are included with your phone deal are designed to enhance the experience with the phone you choose.

We Love Freebies!

So if you are in the market for free gifts, finding the perfect phone for you is the added bonus. Whether you decide on the latest and greatest with the most bells and whistles, or a basic smart phone is all a matter of preference. Many shoppers think they have the device they want in mind, and then see another that better suits their needs. Portability, intelligence, comfort, and design are all important considerations to be made when finding your perfect fit. Advancements in technology have made cellular device options seemingly limitless.

Tip of the Day

If It Doesn’t Smell, Don’t Wash It

According to Real Simple, if every American made an effort to launder less — cutting out just one load of laundry a week per household — we’d save enough water to fill seven million swimming pools each year.

So if it looks clean, and it smells clean, call it clean and wear it again. Consider hanging worn clothes out on your clothesline to freshen them up between wearings
