Staying In Balance With Nature: Living an Observant Life

Posted on November 23, 2016 by Andrew

A big part of the “green movement” has to deal with balance. And specifically, the balance between man and nature. It’s impossible to control the specifics of what lots of people across generations and cultures are going to do with this desire, but it is possible to find your own path through the middle.

And with respect to living an observant life, you can expect to do things like avoid drug addiction, embrace green practices, go small when possible, utilize nutrition advice to the best of your ability, and find your spiritual center whenever possible. When these things are in balance with nature, you will be in balance with nature.

Avoiding Drug Addiction

Drug addiction is a tough topic. Depending on your cultural background and relationship to certain environments or mentality, you can get caught in a drug addiction before you know it. But if you plan on being observant about life, and you plan on balancing your body and mind with the body and mind of nature, drug addiction has no place, and therefore has to be dealt with in the most efficient and accepting way possible. And you not only need to have both patience and power with yourself, you also need to respect other people during their journeys. There are several different addiction treatments available and each person will find that some are more effective to them then others.

Embracing Green Practices

Green practices, in general, will move you toward a balanced and observant life naturally. Even in more industrial circumstances, you can still do things like set up recycling stations, turn off lights, turn down the temperature of your water heater, and dozens of other small by consistent actions that will reduce your carbon footprint.

Going Small

And sometimes being green isn’t so much about your actions as it is the intentions that you have with ownership. The fewer things you have, the less cluttered you will be in terms of lifestyle, and the less energy it will take to maintain a balanced sense of entropy in your life. You can build a tiny house. You can minimize your wardrobe. You can only keep the pots and pans you need. All of these activities are both green and freeing.

Nutrition Advice

Though an overarching fixation on nutritive ways to go Green is on the unhealthy end of the obsession scale, there’s something to be said for paying attention to what you eat with respect to how your decisions affect the earth. Eating meat and eating mostly plant-based food will affect your environment different. Allow that to help you choose your diet.

Find Your Spiritual Center

At the core of living naturally, observantly, and inside the concept of environmentalism, your spiritual center is going to make a difference. Being at peace with yourself will help you be at peace with nature, which will help guide your green life decisions.

Tip of the Day

If It Doesn’t Smell, Don’t Wash It

According to Real Simple, if every American made an effort to launder less — cutting out just one load of laundry a week per household — we’d save enough water to fill seven million swimming pools each year.

So if it looks clean, and it smells clean, call it clean and wear it again. Consider hanging worn clothes out on your clothesline to freshen them up between wearings
