About Me

Greetings.

I’m Andrew, probably one of the most stereotypical nerds you’ll ever encounter, this side of the internet. Predictably, I am really into games, as well as tinkering with all sorts of machinery and electronics- I’m the guy who’d be talking about considering getting a water cooler for my PC with the pretty cashier instead of hitting on her.

Then again, I wouldn’t need to. Probably as a result of some incredible karma, I am incredibly lucky enough to be the other, less fabulous, half of a girl much prettier than any mildly interested cashier lady I’ve ever had the pleasure of talking about Star Wars with. I’m pretty convinced that I’m going to cure cancer in the foreseeable future, or save mankind from complete destruction. Probably both. At the same time. We’ve been together for three years now, and she has since managed to adapt and learned to tolerate my quirks. I can genuinely say I’ve found a keeper, and I’m gonna keep her (see what I did there? Bet you did).

The nerd cooties have not subsided as a result of puberty- in fact, I completely brought them over as an adult. In true Big Bang Theory fashion, I am now a science teacher, a job that I really love doing. Personal jabs aside, science is a great passion of mine, and to be able to share that with young minds is a great calling for a guy like me. I hike a lot, take a lot of treks in the country, and so I have grown to care about nature and and her environment- climate change, energy, anything under, about and around the sun. My job gives me an opportunity to educate the youth about the importance of respecting all that surrounds us, which gives me hope that the future might just be a little better with my contribution. I also do my best to apply my own teachings to myself and my home, keeping everything as green as possible.

As you may well expect, this blog will mostly be about everything I have so far mentioned. Going green will be a huge chunk of content on this space, as not only is it my passion, but there are a lot of things to be discovered here- namely, the little things you and I can do that will create one hell of an impact on the betterment of this planet. If you really, I mean really, breathe and take everything in, this world is as beautiful as it gets. I want to preserve it to the best of my abilities. Aside from this, of course, I will be utilizing it as my space for being as nerdy as possible- as this is not a choice, but a lifestyle, thank you very much. Ramblings will be rampant, thoughts will be thoughtful and musings will be much obliged. I’m sure everyone will be quite comfortable here, regardless of what it is that powers your lasers.

Tip of the Day

If It Doesn’t Smell, Don’t Wash It

According to Real Simple, if every American made an effort to launder less — cutting out just one load of laundry a week per household — we’d save enough water to fill seven million swimming pools each year.

So if it looks clean, and it smells clean, call it clean and wear it again. Consider hanging worn clothes out on your clothesline to freshen them up between wearings
